@HelenORahilly I got a residents code too but was offered the mad €415 tickets. Couldn’t justify it. Bit raging to be honest, after wading through the Coldplay crowds yesterday with two small kids in tow.
@CitizenW0lf We’re still in the area and have a car (and two small kids). Once the scales fall from your eyes and you realise there are often faster, easier (no parking hassle) and more sustainable ways to get around, it’s easy to make the shift. But the scales are pretty thick in Dublin…
@CitizenW0lf Lots of giving out about inconsiderate/dangerous drivers but everyone knows the residents who do most of the illegal parking would be up in arms if DCC decided to enforce. The majority of North inner city residents don’t have a car but they also don’t have any political clout.
Incredibly awkward revelation for the DUP: Edwin Poots wrote to the Government to say that NI's farmers were better off keeping part of the NI Protocol. The DUP has opposed it as a constitutional outrage - but Poots seemed more worried here about cash for farmers (he's a farmer).
Remember "collateralised debt obligations" from the 2008 crisis? Turns out, private equity has its own variant.
