In June I photographed my artist book “Prevailing winds” amongst the flint walls of St Benet’s Abbey, Norfolk Broads. It’s been a busy time moving so I forgot to post about it!
This book was made on a residency in Illinois @bradleyu#artistresidency
Thanks a mill to the lovely folks @SolasProject for taking the time to show myself and Brina @NGIreland around the neighbourhood #Dublin8#YouthWorkersMatter
Amazing to see woodworking projects at The Yard #SolasProject
The last line “fills the air” was a repeated refrain during this period. In this photograph the book fills the gap of this flint wall so exactly. It felt apt (and lucky!) to be able to resituate the book where it was formed. #letterpress#artistbook#norfolkbroads#flint
It contains a concrete poem which visualises the text in a different way and informs how the book was bound, even the paper it’s made with.
I first came across flint walls in 2017 on a trip to the Norfolk Broads. I wrote the poem at night between my time in Norfolk and Peoria.
Delighted to read about the success of Dads Matter in the Eastern Daily Press https://t.co/jeG2v1Wa5H. Congratulations to Chris and Travis @NorfolkCC. It's been a pleasure working with you on the Dads Matter campaign in Norfolk! #DadsMatter#Norfolk#SocialWork#SupportServices
Funding cuts are denying many D/deaf children the support they need. Sign the @NDCS_UK petition for #funded quality #Deaf education. Whether the investment in D/deaf or mainstream schools, it should be available for every D/deaf student! #DeafCulture https://t.co/BwhYpQ2INh

If you missed my workshop, you can watch a step by step video on the @NGIreland website and make your own engraving at home. Thank you to @fioneekelly for inspiring us, to Caomhán at the @NGIreland for hosting and to all the children who joined and shared their future forests!
