Julian Assange Archive launches fundraising appeal for 2026 opening exhibition.
The independent Julian Assange Archive @AssangeArchive is dedicated to preserving the global movement that fought to defend liberty by freeing Julian Assange. In recent months, the archive team has catalogued thousands of artifacts including embassy and prison letters, books, artworks, banners, and more.
The archive will be a public resource:
- a permanent physical collection
- a digital collection and catalogue
- an educational programme for schools demonstrating how grassroots action can shape the course of history.
In 2026, the archive will open in Dessau, Germany. The archive seeks your support for the launch and its long term security!

Inside the heart of the Julian Assange Archive.
This is where memory is preserved, where history is carefully handled, and where every document, book, photograph, and artifact is catalogued with intention. What you see here is not just storage — it is a living archive dedicated to safeguarding one of the most significant bodies of material connected to journalism, transparency, and the pursuit of truth in the digital age.
Each box, each shelf, each labeled section represents countless hours of work: sorting, documenting, preserving. Behind every item lies a story — of publications, legal battles, public discourse, and a global movement that continues to shape conversations around freedom of information.
Archives like this are not static. They grow, evolve, and demand care. They are built by people who believe that access to information matters — not just today, but for future generations who will look back to understand the forces that shaped our world.
This space is where that commitment becomes tangible.
We continue to expand, digitize, and organize — ensuring that researchers, journalists, and the public can access these materials now and in the years to come.

"If we fail to rally—collectively—we're finished." Harsh? Yes. But from GDR self-correction to 2026's creeping controls—surveillance, sanctioned voices, war as "strategy" (mainstream serves the narrative, rarely calls for stop)—it's the truth.
Julian Assange's freedom? Won by us: ordinary people organizing globally. Proof it works.
But pardon fights continue; precedent endangers all. Read our full essay on the precipice we're on & how to push back.

We won. Ordinary people — vigils, art, banners — forced Julian Assange's freedom in 2024.
But the precedent remains. Surveillance grows. Truth is under attack.
This is not the end — it's the warning.
