@Optimumlatte69@Vinalhavenn@jbbryant111@ThePeoplesCube@CynicalPublius Any staff member who pressures customers to tip, is going to earn pretty poor tips. Any staff member who provides even decent service, is going to end up earning far more than they would get paid if their wages weren’t tip based
@slothbus8746@jirton@yurimaxed The caliber of these rifles is typically(not always) lower than that of most hunting rifles. It’s more the capacity and semi-auto that’s required because hogs come in large groups
@MrOvis_ The Empire is gearing up for the inevitable second war with the dominion that is coming soon. They already lost almost all their territories, if they lose Skyrim, it’s just Cyrodil and a discontiguous High Rock left vs the Dominion
@ZoomerIsland Follow the principle of using substitutes when possible, minimizing harm, and using the fewest amount of animals possible to achieve a proper test and it’s fine
@projection2024 In theory the Yamato’s giant guns could outrange the allied battleships, but in practice their radar targeting was so much more advanced by that stage of the war they would have been accurately putting shots on target before the Yamato knew what was happening
@AileInTheValley@one_guy_j They had a vague awareness, but as with this example, they had so little understanding that it would have been ineffective most times. I’m sure it happened occasionally, and it was evil when it did, but the vast majority was unintentional
@AileInTheValley@one_guy_j I’ll admit I forgot that somebody did give the blankets out, but this article is inaccurate. The journal quote confirming giving out the blankets is misattributed, it was the militia leader, not Ecuyer. This was also done days prior to the conversation about it discussed above.
@AileInTheValley@one_guy_j Additionally, this group of natives was already exposed to smallpox, the blankets were used several weeks in the past and would have been inert by then. So definitely an evil thought, but would have had no real effect
@AileInTheValley@one_guy_j This is also the only mention of anybody considering doing this. It is not confirmed if they actually went through with it and the fort the officers were in was actively being sieged by these natives
