Nigeria has now been delisted from the International Maths Olympiad, whose finals are happening in Shanghai, China, this July.

It is one of the most prestigious academic competitions in the world.

Nigeria can now only participate as an observer nation, while other countries can participate fully.

This was because of the Ministry of Education’s inability to fund students for 4 consecutive years through National Mathematical Center.

It’s a big shame for Nigeria.

Someone DMed me today and begged me to raise my voice because he saw my bio, my tweets, and how many of my posts have been going viral. Something serious is happening in Bagega, Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The person sent me voice notes, pictures, and videos as evidence, and honestly, I was shocked by what I saw.

This issue deserves urgent attention, but I also have to think about my safety and my family. We all know the risks involved when speaking about banditry and insecurity. I’m not afraid, but my family cannot afford to lose me.
