Have had conversation with @kim_sanzone today and pleased to have it confirmed that @Star_Pelaw are not affiliated with Durham V4P.

The 'affiliation/recommendation' moving forward seemed to have been unclear - until now. After discussion with Kim, Pelaw will take the initiative and compile a list of greyhound orthopedic specialists in which they will use as a reference list for anyone who may request. Durham V4P will not form part of that list.

Just for avoidance of doubt, i've not blamed the track or the track vets (who have also been confirmed to be employed independently) during the time. In fact I praised Pelaw/Helen for their actions on the evening it happened, which you'll find on my X feed previously and stand by that.

Grateful for the phone call with Kim and the clarification/confirmation that Durham V4P are not affiliated with Star Pelaw and owners will also be able to have a more informed list of choices of vets with greyhound specific experience as a result of this experience. On that note also, Kim is open to suggestions from those in the greyhound game, i've had many of you share your recommendations with me, so get sharing them with Kim.

In other news, V4P Durham have responded today to my complaint around the operation and post op treatment. They will require further time to conduct their own internal investigation and I should hear more in the next 14 working days.

Thanks to all for the messages of support and care for Dotty, she had some bone removed yesterday that had unfortunately 'died', but we are hopeful of analysing this to target the infection in the rest of the central tarsal and save the leg. The plate looks to be holding well, it's just fighting off that infection now to really turn the corner. Back to the vets on Thursday for a further look.

Got my girl back home after today’s surgery. Can you believe what’s had to be done all because of Durham V4P incompetence in the first place. So furious still. 11 screws and a plate to support the hock. What phenomenal work by Nikki and her team at Thirsk Veterinary Centre. For those that missed my tweet yesterday, do not use Durham Vets 4 Pets and if you want to see further information as to why drop me a message.

They are still affiliated with @Star_Pelaw so anyone running dogs there please know that you do not have to use them even if your dog gets injured at Pelaw. You can still use a vets of your choosing and claim back the IRS support. Here’s hoping the right decision might still be made and Pelaw move to another vet that is fit to care for our greyhounds, but I’ll not bet on that happening.

A question I cannot answer. Gbgb and Pelaw have both been made aware with two documents, one written by me and another a second vets professional opinion. Both have chosen to not even have so much as a conversation with the veterinary practice in question and they still remain as affiliated vets for Pelaw track.
