Amina emailed a teacher on Dec. 21, 2007: her father “has simply made our lives a nightmare,” was arranging marriages, had threatened to “hurt [Sarah] very badly,” and “he will without ANY DRAMA OR DOUBT kill us.” Family members, including great-aunt Gail Gattrell, called the slayings honor killings, m*rders committed to restore family standing after perceived shame.
