[CASE DOCKET OPENED AND UNDER INVESTIGATION]

The Gauteng Provincial Investigation Unit is investigating a case of intimidation. The suspect has been identified as a tenderpreneur, Lawrence Chamurwa Mudzingayima, on social media.

A case was opened in Randburg SAPS. This incident took place at Vlamo Restaurant, Sandton Gate, Glenadrienne, on Thursday, 18 September 2026 at approximately 20:15.

The complainant was attending a private birthday dinner when “Lawrence Chamurwa Mudzingayima” approached her and her companions, offered to take photographs (which was declined), and later demanded her telephone number. When asked to leave them alone, the man became aggressive and verbally abusive. He uttered threats to shoot and murder the complainant, including a threat to put a bullet in her, and claimed he was a wealthy man who owned the restaurant and would walk free.

Waiters intervened and removed the man from the powder-room area. A companion of the suspect later approached the complainant in the dining room, apologised, and urged her not to escalate the matter, stating that the suspect was “well-connected.”

The restaurant owner attended after being shown a video of the incident, spoke to the complainant, and had the suspect removed from the premises.

No firearm was seen and no physical injuries were reported.

Police investigations are underway and the suspect will be brought to justice in due course.

Mamelodi SAPS requests the public’s assistance in locating 17-year-old Nthabeleng Nama.

Nthabeleng was last seen on 13 September 2026, when she left her residence in Mamelodi, Pretoria, without informing anyone where she was going. She never returned home and her current whereabouts are unknown.

💔🕊️ REST IN PEACE: Itumeleng Kekana, 32, has been identified as the second woman found dead in the Kempton Park area.

The QwaQwa native, who was living in Gauteng, was reported missing in Kempton Park on 17 July 2026. Her body was discovered on 3 August near Great North Road in Pomona, with multiple stab wounds.

Her family travelled from QwaQwa to assist with the search before later identifying her body.

Police said no arrests had been made at the time, while the motive remained unknown. Investigations into whether the killings are connected are ongoing.

GUILTY OF RAPE & HUMAN TRAFFICKING and ASSAULT

Louis Lategan - a South African farmer has been found guilty on a litany of charges - including rape, assault and human trafficking - in the Eastern Cape High Court in Makhanda.

Lategan, 43, trafficked six women to his remote farm in the Eastern Cape under the guise of offering them a job as au pairs between 2020 and 2023.

Acting Judge Judith Roberson convicted him on five counts of rape, six counts of human trafficking, and eight counts of assault.
