Today, after 20 years of funding science to inform ocean policy, the Lenfest Ocean Program is closing.
To the researchers, partners & communities who shaped this work: Thank You!
Our research archive remains online at https://t.co/l2Oj5c5Qkw. The impact continues.
As we share our final newsletter, we want to thank all who have engaged with the Lenfest Ocean Program over the years.
This issue looks back at the lessons, partnerships, and progress made—and the work still ahead.

@wcs_kenya recently hosted a Science to Policy workshop with key government & non-government stakeholders to discuss integrating tengefus (voluntary community small-scale fisheries closures) into Kenya’s marine resource management.
In addition to marine areas prioritized considering benefits and costs related to establishing a community closure, local communities highlighted 170 marine areas of ecological and social importance to inform the establishment of community closures.
