I was honoured to join the International Women’s Peace Group yesterday on behalf of @NCIC_Kenya for the Kenya Women’s Peace Conference 2026 at the Double tree hotel in Nairobi. @peace1road Is a global women’s NGO dedicated to peace through solidarity, peace education and international cooperation.

NCIC continues to recognize the role women play as peacebuilders, community leaders, educators and advocates for social cohesion. This year's theme which is ‘Connecting Women for sustainable peace in Kenya, resonates well with the Commission's endeavor for sustainable peace in Kenya.

The impacts of gendered violence and hate speech as we head towards the 2027 general elections are increasing with each day and urged each and every one to ensure women are protected.

Let us make peace is an integral part of our every day business.

I met the National Steering Commitee on Peacebuilding and Conflict Management delegation led its Secretary, Ms. Josephine Onunga for an introductory engagement alongside the #NCIC Commissioners Hassan Billow, Jackson Swadi Kedogo, and Josephine Eragae earlier on today.

They deliberated on strengthening collaboration, partnership, and coordination in key areas, including Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) mechanisms and the implementation of the Peacebuilding Architecture.

Particular emphasis was on strategic interventions in digital peacebuilding, recognising its importance as the country prepares for the 2027 General Elections.

I had a productive meeting with Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya together with the NCIC, Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Service & Human Capital Development together with the NCIC Commissioners yesterday. We discussed the urgent need for comprehensive peacebuilding, healing, and reconciliation across Kenya, including measures to address historical injustices, tackle marginalisation, and promote harmonious coexistence for all citizens.

I met the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, the Hon @gk_ruku , alongside the NCIC Commissioners earlier on today. Our discussions focused on the need for public sector reforms, promotion of peace and cohesion within the Republic and within the public service.#PeaceAndCohesion
