Bitcoin tagged ~$81k, then stalled near $78k. August was still BTC’s strongest month since 2017 (~+25–30%). Then spot ETFs snapped a 9-day inflow streak with ~$202M outflows.

Nice theory. The government keeps borrowing, spending, and rolling over $10 trillion a year. Then robots boost productivity, create deflation, and shrink the debt-to-GDP ratio. Sounds neat… except the part where politicians see a bigger economy and immediately invent three new spending programs. Robots work 24/7. Congress spends 24/7. Who wins that race?

Oh fantastic, the “GLOBAL BOND CRISIS” is somehow getting even worse. Who could have possibly seen this coming?
Japan’s 2-year yield just casually hit a 31-year high. France’s 10-year is now at levels last seen during the 2008 financial crisis (fun times, right?). Germany’s 10-year is at a 15-year high. And the US 2-year and 5-year yields have already fully shrugged off the Treasury’s little dump and are lining up for multi-year highs like it’s no big deal.
But wait — that’s not even the best part!
The Fed is out here dropping rate-hike hints, the BOJ is apparently ready to hike next month, and every other central banker on the planet is suddenly rediscovering their inner hawk because inflation decided to show up again.
Exactly the same movie we all watched in 2022… you know, the one that ended with global markets face-planting.

BREAKING: A classified Pentagon assessment has directly warned Trump's Secretary of War Hegseth that extending the Iran war will leave the US military dangerously weakened, including for China and Russia, with senior US commanders directly telling him "America can no longer afford to fight this conflict without breaking itself," per WaPo.

Leaders of US European Command, US Pacific Command, US Southern Command, and the Navy's top admiral all filed a formal "non-concur" against Hegseth's order to extend their forces in the Iran war, saying prolonged large-scale operations against Iran are "unsustainable" and risk "weakening US ability to confront threats elsewhere, including the US homeland." The overall tenor is that the Iran war has been "too much for too long."

US Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Daryl Caudle directly told Hegseth the US Navy cannot sustain its current level of support for the Iran conflict because there is no anticipated end date, with barely 1/4 of the US Navy's destroyer fleet currently ready to deploy, a sharp decline from prewar levels. Caudle directly said "the enemy gets a vote." The US Navy's only dedicated aircraft carrier in the Pacific, a keystone of the US military's plan to deter China, was sent to the Middle East to relieve another carrier deployed for more than 300 days.

US allies in the Pacific have directly warned that the Pentagon’s already catastrophic depletion of missiles and air defense interceptors leave them vulnerable to China.
