@syanwar6 I am on board with this vision! Exciting times to be in education. I think the biggest challenge with this change will be moving away from the long-established tradition of how we measure student ability and achievement quantifiably. #EDU6323
@MasiaNeu@Mc94Molly Agree this should be a huge area of focus. Great opportunity to use tech to close these gaps. While full access to the benefits of edtech is disproportionate around the world, mobile phones are nearly everywhere: https://t.co/TonwhbVMiN

@BarnardHilary I think the video spurs some reflection on how we as a society engage with tech. I think this course has done the same thing. Tech is neither good nor bad inherently, but we need to be conscious of how we use it, pointing out both the positive and negative impacts. #EDU6323
Also really like that Prince EA video about high tech and humanity. I've heard lots of convo in K12 about limiting screen time in school for students (e.g. tech free zones) to bolster face-to-face time. I think high school students must learn to self-regulate #EDU6323
I loved reading through the NMC Report. One hotspot was the idea about appreciating/leveraging online informal learning in order to make formal education more relevant. The two don't need to be mutually exclusive! #EDU6323
@Evelyn05891014@BarnardHilary This skill of recognizing when someone seems "out of it" is so important to have as a teacher/boss/manager. An example of the interpersonal skills that students need to keep developing in school! #EDU6323#softskills
Wesch's video tells a story that is commonly overlooked in schools. Interesting to think of the "disengaged" student with PLNs in mind. PLNs are unique to different people and show that all students are curious/excited about something. Teachers need to tap into that! #EDU6323
@LoebAnnie True - I like that the video showed digital polling in use in a large lecture hall. What a great way to keep students engaged in a setting where it's easy to check out. #EDU6323
@Evelyn05891014 This can be especially beneficial for more introverted students who are less comfortable sharing their ideas verbally. They can contribute and demonstrate their understanding in conversations without the pressure to always speak up. #EDU6323
@ITProgramsSCC I really like the idea of instructors using polls to assess gaps in students' knowledge. Polls can clarify a foundation for learners and for teachers - very useful! #EDU6323
Miller talks about the importance of "enticing" students into the material in order to motivate them to learn. Polls can be used in this way as a pulse check during a lesson to keep things moving in a student-centered direction. #EDU6323
@BarnardHilary Surely can see the convenience for training purposes. Not sure if you're referring to Target the shopping center, but makes me wonder what will happen to retail clothing stores in the future once VR/AR allows customers to try on/buy clothing virtually in their bedroom? #EDU6323
