This is the type of crisis that a Democratic president would be held personally responsible for by the media. Instead it’s getting virtually no national attention despite the issue being directly connected to federal cuts enacted by the Trump administration
I see your profile picture. That’s Johnny Cash. My hero too. Arrested seven times. Smuggled 668 amphetamines across the Mexican border in 1965. Took every drug there was and drank like I did. Cheated on his first wife. Slept with more woman than I ever did. Hit bottom in a cave in Tennessee in 1968 trying to crawl off and die. And then he got up. He got clean. He spent the rest of his life singing for prisoners and addicts and the people the country threw away because he knew he was one of them.
That was the whole point of the Man in Black. He wore it for the poor and the beaten down. He wore it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime. He wore it for the ones who never heard a word of Jesus. He wore it for the addicted and the dying. He wore it as a standing witness that no one is past saving.
You picked his picture. You did not pick his message. Try listening to the words.
@omgsidewalks That's your nervous system in recovery mode. Chronic stress depletes dopamine and norepinephrine. The urge to do nothing isn't laziness. It's your brain rationing what little neurochemical fuel is left.
Stop letting their limitations control you. If they're emotionally unavailable, keep it transactional. If they're argumentative, agree playfully and walk away. Stop pouring into voids. Stop fighting to be understood. Meet people where they are, not where you wish they'd be.
Processed meats have officially been classified as Group 1 carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, placing them in the same category as tobacco and asbestos in terms of the strength of scientific evidence linking them to cancer.
Foods such as bacon, ham, hot dogs, and sausages have been strongly associated with colorectal cancer. Researchers say the risk is largely connected to the way these meats are processed. Methods like curing, smoking, and salting can create harmful compounds including nitrosamines, which may damage DNA over time.
Preservatives such as nitrates and nitrites, along with high temperature cooking methods like grilling or frying, can also increase the formation of carcinogenic chemicals.
Health experts stress that this does not mean eating a slice of bacon carries the same overall danger as smoking cigarettes, but it does mean the evidence that processed meat can cause cancer is considered conclusive. Many specialists recommend reducing intake of processed meats and choosing alternatives such as fish, beans, or other plant based proteins more often.
For people who continue eating red or processed meat, cutting back on portion size and frequency may help lower long term cancer risk and support overall health and longevity.

37 years ago, the world lost Gilda Radner
I often think of the sketch.
Hours after she died, Steve Martin hosted SNL and scrapped his monologue. With tears in his eyes, and a joke, the show paid tribute to her with their classic: Dancing in the Dark.
Democrats NEED to be talking more about the GUTTING of the Voting Rights Act.
MAGA is silencing voters and carving up Black districts all across the South to hold onto power.
This is Jim Crow 2.0. Silence is NOT an option.
Some people need to understand what sensory overload is. Don’t assume someone has an attitude or is mad just because they need time alone. Not everyone can be social all day, every day. Some of us need time alone without being talked to, touched, or bothered and that’s okay
4 weird sleep habits that are actually ADHD:
1. Delaying sleep for absolutely no reason
ADHD brains are experts at revenge bedtime procrastination. You scroll, snack, reorganize your room, or start random tasks just to avoid going to bed and facing tomorrow.
2. Needing the perfect sleep setup
A weighted blanket, loud fan, comfort show in the background, specific pillow position… your brain refuses to sleep unless the environment feels exactly right.
3. Getting a burst of energy at 2 AM
Exhausted all evening. Suddenly productive the second everyone else is asleep. Now you want to deep clean the kitchen or start a whole new hobby.
4. The nonstop brain radio at night
The moment your head hits the pillow, your brain starts replaying embarrassing memories, future worries, fake arguments, and a random song lyric from 2016.
President Xi giving Trump rose seeds after him and Melania destroyed the White House rose garden with a giant concrete slab is unbelievably petty and I love it.
I saw this video on Viola Davis' instagram this morning and everyone needs to see it.
The gutting of the VRA is the most significant attack on ALL civil rights in America in my lifetime, and after they already came for the women..
We better wake the fuck up. None of us is safe:
I wrote about Trump's stupid ballroom for @RawStory & once again ask the questions NO ONE HAS ASKED:
Where are the historical artifacts from the East Wing? Did anyone carefully store & catalog them, or are they sitting in a debris pile on a golf course?

When the illusion finally cracks, you’re left staring at the reality you tried to ignore: the man you trusted wasn’t a savior, just a hollow performance propped up by bluster and ego.
The confidence, the promises, the swagger,it all collapses into something far less impressive.
Not a mastermind, not a disruptor, just a loud, erratic figure out of his depth, masking incompetence with noise.
In the end, what looked like strength reveals itself as pure theatrics,a caricature, a spectacle, a punchline that stopped being funny the moment you realized you were the one who believed all his bullshit......
I have trump fatigue syndrome, and I admit it, I am a TFS sufferer—and I mean I suuuufffer. That man’s voice, his face, his gigantic ass, it has all become a Pavlovian torture system, and just the IDEA of it ever, possibly, mercifully being over, is all that keeps me going.
We are announcing today that The American Revolution will stream for free in its entirety on all PBS platforms from May 25th through July 12. Hope you have a chance to watch, ideally with friends and family, as you think about our 250th anniversary this July 4th. https://t.co/c8fc6Sldj5
