The S&P 500 is set to gain more than 24% this year after rising 24% in 2023. Back-to-back gains of over 20% would be the best performance for the benchmark index since 1997 and 1998. I hope all my friends had investments in S&P 500 Index funds the last 2 years.

Just a reminder: You don’t want a big tax refund. The thing about a tax refund is that you overpaid and are basically giving the IRS a loan with 0% interest throughout the year. That's a great deal for the IRS, not you. Getting back $0 is the goal. Fix your W-4.
