Such a shame because the people are so upbeat, welcoming and seemed genuinely excited for change.
We tried our best to warn them about Andy and how he would trample all over Makerfield purely as a stepping stone. The people will unfortunately taste his dusty rubber sole for the foreseeable future as he’s not going to spend any sincere time there because he doesn’t give a damn about that place. Gutted for Makerfield as they’ve missed out on a foot soldier politician in @RobKenyonReform who would have been boots on the ground everyday with the people, for the people. We live and learn I suppose even if it’s the hard way! 🫡🇬🇧🏴
🚨NEW: Did you see the BBC helicopter that followed Andy Burnham's train from Manchester to London?
Well, I've submitted a Freedom of Information request to find out how much licence fee payers' money was *WASTED* on this blatant state-sponsored propaganda!
Seeing people like Lucy being denied bail and given a jail sentence for ONE quickly deleted post will always be unforgivable.
One of many reasons why I laughed seeing Keir Starmer choking up in his resignation speech.
I’m so proud to be on a news station that is watched by so many. I said 3 years ago that it would become the UK’s no.1 news channel.
I was laughed at.
I’m literally stopped everyday by someone saying “ GB News ! “ to me.
Proud.
Surprise, surprise… Andy Burnham’s flagship “green” Bee Network buses have a familiar face behind the scenes.
Remember Marie-France Van Heel from Blind Date with Cilla in ‘92? Probably not, but i digress!
Today she’s Chief Customer Officer at Be.EV — the company that just won the contract to supply EV charging for Greater Manchester’s bus network. She also sits on the Be.EV board and is a director of Iduna Infrastructure.
Be.EV is backed by Octopus Energy Generation.
Oh, and she’s married to millionaire “socialist” Andy Burnham.
Funny old world. From Blind Date to the green gravy train.
Old Blairites never change.
(Please don’t retweet — I’m sure Burnham, that pie-eating, beer-drinking, Cambridge graduate 100% northerner, wouldn’t want this information to reach far and wide.)
A Reform figure put it to me today that even if Burnham were to call an early election during his honeymoon period and win, the silver lining for them is that Reform would become the official opposition - and the Tories who are currently “squatting” in a position they no longer have any business occupying would be “toast”.
One can see the logic. PMQs isn’t just Badenoch’s strong suit - it’s at the centre of her game plan. If Farage replaces her at the dispatch box and the Tory leader is reduced to asking supplementary questions from the second row, that would be disastrous for her. Official opposition status also unlocks public funding (for policy staff etc), more media airtime and greater access to civil service briefings - all of which the Tories currently enjoy.
The Conservatives better hope Burnham doesn’t call an election any time soon. Otherwise the question may soon shift from whether they can recover to whether they can survive at all.
It’s pathetic watching Team Burnham claim he needs more time to prepare for government.
Andy Burnham openly signalled his desire to replace Keir Starmer back at Labour Conference in September 2025.
Nine months later, if he still hasn’t worked out his programme for government then perhaps he’s not as ready for the job as his supporters claim.
This is Marie-France van Heel, she is a director of Be.EV & Iduna Infrastructure, she is also Chief Marketing and Customer Officer for Octopus Energy. In her capacity on both these rolls she secured a contract to supply EV infrastructure and supply energy to Greater Manchester Combined Authority, the famous “Bus” project the now ex mayor of Manchester keeps banging on about. One thing that he possibly fails to shout about is the this woman that got this contract is in fact Andy Burnham’s wife
Keir Starmer is the worst PM we’ve ever had. He posed as Mr Competent but he was staggeringly inept. He was all about ‘human rights’ yet he waged war on trial by jury and freedom of speech. Good riddance to his tyranny of greyness, says Brendan O’Neill

Reformers, we’re within touching distance of having this brilliant man as our Home Secretary & the tenacious Nigel as our PM. Keep spreading the word, keep holding the govt & establishment to account. We can help Reform our country. It’s what gives me hope
In @reformparty_uk run Newcastle under Lyme, Leader @GullisJonathan has wiped out the Conservatives' budget deficit by scrapping an unfunded plan to procure EV bin lorries, saving £6.2m.
Scrapped the #NetZero nonsense. Delivered good value for taxpayers. That's Reform UK!
