Dreamcatchers are a big part in Indigenous cultures, namely in the Ojibwe and Lakota communities. Understanding why non-Indigenous people shouldn't profit off of it is an important step in honouring Indigenous history and heritage.

Mr.Rostalski and Mrs. McConnell brought their Learn@Home classes to the Pow Wow. Students in their class even got to participate in the inter-tribal dance with their teachers. Students enjoyed learning about their regalia and the different types of dances.
Ms. Greenbird organized our Pow Wow. There were talented singers, drummers and dancers. She demonstrated hoop dancing and fancy dancing to our students. @FNMI_SCDSB
So proud of this incredible crew (& others who couldn't be here) for months of hard work creating our first @GBDBears mural. This mural represents our school community. The entire school collaborated on the vision for this artwork. #collaboration#communitymural@SCDSB_Schools

March 31 is National Indigenous Languages Day. A day to recognize and celebrate the rich and diverse heritage of Indigenous languages. Languages are deeply personal and connect individuals, families and communities across generations, distances and differences. #IDIL20222032
This is pretty cool... I wonder if they have speakers say it/read it, if it is written in sylabics or if it is written phonetically with the English alphabet. @FNMI_SCDSB
Today we honour National Indigenous Languages Day!
As part of Ontario’s work to preserve and strengthen Indigenous languages, we offer the G1 knowledge test in Ojibway, Oji-Cree and Cree, allowing people to get their licence in their traditional/ancestral language.
