A joint operation by the SANDF Military Police and SAPS has led to the recovery of stolen military weapons and the arrest of three suspects in Mooiplaas, Pretoria.
Acting on intelligence, authorities conducted two operations during June 2026.
On 7 June, two foreign nationals were arrested and a multiple grenade launcher as well as an R4 assault rifle were recovered.
The suspects appeared in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court, where bail was denied.
A follow-up operation on 17 June resulted in the arrest of a third foreign national and the recovery of another multiple grenade launcher.
The suspect is due to make his first court appearance.
The Military Police have vowed to continue pursuing those responsible until all outstanding stolen military weapons have been recovered and all suspects brought to justice.
