Shameless dad-joke inflicter. Recovering Southerner. Covered #Eagles @ Philly Daily News & Inquirer for 19 yrs. Now writing here and there for @phly_sports.
Every time it happens, it's a reminder of how the last 2 seasons ended. The Phillies hit Paul Skenes twice this summer but have not hit good pitching *at all* rest of year. Gonna be hard to believe in the offense until/unless it provides a reason to.
Went the see Jill Scott @themetphilly, at my wife’s urging. Really enjoyed it. Always up for The Met. I might be the only person to complete the Turnpike Troubadours/Jason Isbell/Jill Scott trifecta there this year.

Don't let a draft dodger and a drunk former Fox & Friends Weekend co-host erase them.
Just in: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies and plans to sign a one-year, $3.9 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers after clearing waivers, sources tell ESPN. The two-time NBA champion with the Lakers and Nuggets, who was part of 2020 title along with LeBron James, gives the 76ers a wing shooter and defender.

Updated story on Kyle Shanahan's car accident, with perspective from John Lynch and comment from Palo Alto officer: “There will be no information released regarding the cause of the collision or who was at fault.”

@jpt602 No idea. Doesn’t seem so. My point is, usually when something happens that involves the police, medics, and a popular public figure, word spreads quickly.
Glad he’s ok.
From a reporting standpoint, this happened more than a week ago, his staff found out four days ago, and no media knew about it until now?
That’s really unusual.
More about the car accident that left 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan with significant injuries and will leave him limited during training camp, via me and @nwagoner:

@LesBowen Thinking the same thing - odd this didn't come out, since police reports are public, and it's not like his name wouldn't catch people's eye. I'm not saying it should have been released sooner, just surprised.
San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan suffered significant injuries in a car accident during his summer break in mid July that now will leave him limited as the team opens training camp.
Shanahan broke his nose, three ribs, his hand, needed over 40 stiches in his face and suffered a severe concussion during a July 14 car accident when he collided with an SUV near his northern California home, per me and @nwagoner.
Packers financials - the only snapshot we see of NFL finance - show a $453 million distribution to every team from the NFL.
$453 million. Before adding one cent of local or stadium revenue.
For perspective, the player Salary Cap is $300 million.
What a business these owners have.
LeBron James could have returned home to where it all started.
He also could have gone to a familiar place, where he's won multiple titles.
Instead, he chose the path of pressure, joining a 76ers team starving for a championship.

The Phillies were shutout tonight by the Yankees 1-0. This is the 24th time the Phillies have scored one run or less. That is tied for the most games not scoring more than one run in baseball this year. https://t.co/FGBoQQnkqy
