Jalen was rough outside of his explosion game. I'm not sure if we should just move on but my gut tells me there's a special player in there that just cant get out of his own head. I believe in continuity and want to give him the chance again. We don't need 38 points every game
Not usually his biggest fan either but I'd have thrown Jaesean Tate out there whenever Kuminga came in. Just a wildcard that would look like we had a counter. Think it would have thrown Kerr off. Think Ime's inexperience showed at some crucial times but a very positive szn
Back to the series though. We lost a tough game where Podz and Draymond hit way more than usual. We nearly pulled that game out but have to expect to lose in GS when that happens. We lost our edge by losing Game 1. I feel like we'll be more ready next year.
Fred was so good in the latter half of the series and I think our young team suffered early on because he couldn't find a groove until we were in a hole
Amen on SGA and Tari on J Williams with Giannis sweeping in behind. It's defensively magnificent. Need 2 real shooters out there with them and Tari needs to knock down shots for it to survive offensively.
I still belive there's something special in Reed Sheppard too. True table setter. If we can bring FVV back on a reduced 2 year deal to teach him and somehow have Giannis, Amen and Tari around them with Reed getting some run, I think we're a true competitor for OKC.
If we can make JG any way consistent we have a true weapon on our hands. I want to roll the dice again. Keep this young team and let them grow. If next year ends similarly then make moves. Obviously this is dependent on Giannis situation. If he's available go get him (keep Amen)
I genuinely don't want much roster change this season. Let's see what we have. 2nd in the West is unlikely again but once we're in a playoff position, I really think we have the profile of player who will grow from this season.
Amen came alive as the series went on. Similar to Fred, just a shame he couldn't figure it out earlier. I think he's our best talent and incredible how effective he is without a shot. I really think he's going to figure that out too. A true professional, he'll get to NBA average
Sengun had a few awesome games but ultimately he's better than he showed in the series. Draymond was able to defend him (albeit by uncalled fouling) but Alpi needed to punish him more. Even if the stats are bad, standing up to the bully would have helped build our confidence
Other thoughts:
Jabari can be more than what we're using him as but he's got to harden up. Smart players like Curry or likes of CP3 love to see him coming. He's got to recognise that he can shoot over anyone (minus Wemby) and bring that Summer League confidence to his game
We need 19 to 21 consistently. I think he can be that player with more experience playing for a winning team. I really think patience will be pay off with him but he's so hard to figure out
