I believe good legislation starts with listening to the people we serve.
Join me for BYOB: Build Your Own Bill, where we'll discuss community priorities and turn ideas into policy solutions.
October 26th & 28th
Address provided upon RSVP.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and stand with everyone impacted by breast cancer. Know your risk, prioritize screenings, and encourage your loved ones to do the same. Together, we can raise awareness.
October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month. My daughter, Brooke, lived with Rett syndrome. Though she is no longer with us, her memory lives on. Awareness brings understanding, support, and hope to families affected by Rett. I honor Brooke by sharing her story.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the Virginia Physicians for Women’s Health Advocacy Roundtable, where we discussed women’s health, maternal health, and concerns impacting women and families across Virginia.
Grateful for everyone who advocates for women's health.
Yesterday’s Criminal Justice Reform Roundtable brought community members and advocates together for an open conversation about the issues that matter most.

Last week, I joined Lt. Gov. Ghazala Hashmi’s Energy Costs Listening Tour to hear directly from Virginians about rising utility costs and our energy future. Virginia families deserve a voice in the decisions that impact them.
September 11, 2001 is a day I will never forget. I was in my final year of law school at Howard University in Washington, D.C., when our nation was changed forever.
Where were you on 9/11? How were you or someone you love affected?
Yesterday, our staff attended the VCU Startup Showcase at the General Assembly, where VCU-affiliated entrepreneurs shared innovative ideas and real-world solutions. Thank you to Delegate Dougherty for coordinating and helping bring leaders together to support innovation in VA
Happy Labor Day! Today, we celebrate the hardworking people who keep our communities and Commonwealth moving forward.
Thank you to every worker for all you do. Wishing everyone a safe, restful, and well-deserved Labor Day! 🇺🇸
Dolly Parton gave us more than music—she gave generations of children the gift of reading. 💜📚
Her legacy lives on through the Imagination Library of Virginia, providing free books to children from birth to age five.
We are deeply grateful for her lasting impact.
It's going to be a dangerously hot weekend across Virginia, with heat index values as high as 105°.
Stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during peak heat, check in on neighbors and loved ones, and never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
It was great seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new ones at the Blue Commonwealth Gala. Thank you to everyone who is committed to strengthening our communities and moving Virginia forward. I am grateful for the conversations and look forward to the work ahead.

Four years ago today, the Dobbs decision changed reproductive healthcare in America.
This fall, Virginians can vote to enshrine reproductive freedom in our Constitution. Learn what's on the ballot, make a plan to vote, and make your voice heard.

Yesterday was Loving Day.
Richard and Mildred Loving were a Virginia couple whose fight to be together changed our nation and helped expand civil rights for generations to come.
Their story reminds us that love, courage, and perseverance can leave a lasting impact. #LovingDay
This past Saturday, I was proud to stand with Virginians in Richmond fighting for reproductive freedom and the right to make personal healthcare decisions without political interference. Grateful to everyone who showed up and made their voices heard. #ReproductiveFreedom
Paid Family & Medical Leave (HB1207) has officially been signed into law by Governor Spanberger. Proud to serve as a Chief Co-Patron on legislation that supports Virginia families and ensures no one has to choose between caring for a loved one and keeping food on the table.
I would have loved to attend the signing for Virginia’s paid family leave bill, but I was spending the day with my daughter on her field trip instead. Moments like these are why supporting working families matters so much. Proud to keep advocating for Virginia families.
