Read why the #Montreal Chinatown Roundtable withdrew participation from an advisory committee for a $100K City-funded promotional campaign. #Chinatown is a living community! Goods & services sold there have history & meaning. We deserve better! https://t.co/uR3Ycxexq3

I have been a bts part of CWG for the last 4 years (w a short hiatus in the middle) and it has been incredible to see what this highly skilled, passionate, and dedicated volunteer group was able to accomplish so quickly. It is not the end, but we move forward in solidarity ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
📣 CWG has accomplished some incredible successes along with our community partners in the past few years, including the heritage status from the provincial government. Over the summer, we have made a big decision.
As of September 2022, #CWG has officially closed its doors. /1
@onlinelorraine_ Omgosh, Lorraine! Congratulations to you and Ling! I have been following your law school (+ during pandemic journey) and I am so happy for you. Excited to see what you do next, but no doubts it will be rad!

Join in-person at the Holiday Inn in Chinatown at 7pm et, or you can join online from their website. You can pose questions by phone if you aren't able to join in-person. They said call in numbers will be given during the online broadcast.
If you have questions about what they are proposing, what its impact might be, how it might impact the issues you care about (quality or life, housing, the environment, economic vitality etc) or how they can be more inclusive during the consultation period... 1/2
I will be participating as part of my gardening group Green Chinatown Montreal! We are a group who advocates for community gardens and green leisure space as places of intergenerational and cultural exchange! Have your say in the future of #chinatown!
📣 The City of #Montréal wants to review the regulations regarding the density and height of buildings in #Chinatown. The current planning parameters make it possible for new construction projects of up to 66 stories to develop without considering the interests of Chinatown.
Montréal's Chinatown got heritage designation, but the work isnt over!
Check out how to get your voice heard on the future of Chinatown!
