There's a pub in England. ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
It's been open for over a thousand years. You can walk in tonight.
The Porch House. Stow-on-the-Wold. The Cotswolds. As old as England itself.
And when it opened... there was no united kingdom. No parliament. No Magna Carta. Vikings were still raiding the coast.
And someone opened a pub.
The fire's still going. You can walk in and sit by it tonight. The same space. The same warmth. A thousand years later.
There are pubs in England older than the United States. Older than the printing press. Older than the Viking invasions.
And they're not museums. No rope. No plaque. No ticket. You walk in. You sit down. You order a pint.
Empires rose and fell. Wars started and ended. Kings came and went. And the pub stayed open.
A room where anyone can sit. Rich or poor. Lord or labourer. No membership. No invitation. Just a door and a bar and a seat by the fire.
A thousand years. And the door never closed.
That's more than a building. That's England. ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

Eight hundred years of open justice. ๐ฌ๐ง
Gone.
In a single vote.
Magna Carta, 1215: "To no one will we deny or delay right or justice."
Courts must be open. Anyone can watch. Anyone can challenge.
The Star Chamber tried secret trials. No jury. No appeal. You never saw the evidence against you.
Parliament abolished it in 1641. Never again.
372 years later, they brought it back.
The Justice and Security Act 2013. Closed Material Procedures.
The government presents evidence against you. You cannot see it. Your lawyer cannot see it.
A "special advocate" can see it.
But they cannot talk to you about it. Ever.
Evidence about you. That decides your future. That you will never see.
2000 - surveillance without warrants.
2016 - your internet history stored by law.
2022 - the right to protest restricted.
Every right ordinary people fought for. They keep coming for it.
This is not history. This is now.
This is you.
They're counting on you not knowing.
We exist to make sure you do.
No sponsors. No ads. Just people who believe our heritage is worth fighting for.

How is the #PM still in his position in No10. Simply not a leader.
#Labour are a disaster. #Cons had their chance. Just witnessed sectarianism with the #Greens - with my own eyes (By-Election).
The #UK needs to wake up fast. Scary the direction we are going as a nation.
๐ฌ๐ง Rome conquered the known world.
Every army fell. Every kingdom surrendered. From the deserts of North Africa to the forests of Germania, nothing stopped them.
Then they came to Britain.
They took the south. They took the midlands. Then they pushed north. Into the hills. Into the rain. And met people who would not kneel.
The Caledonians fought from the mountains. They hit the legions and vanished. The greatest army on Earth couldn't hold them.
So Emperor Hadrian did something Rome had never done. He drew a line. Seventy-three miles. Coast to coast. Fifteen thousand soldiers. Six years to build it. Not to protect Rome from invasion.
To mark the line where Rome gave up.
They tried again. Built another wall a hundred miles further north. Abandoned it within twenty years.
Hadrian's Wall stood for nearly three hundred years. It's still standing now. You can walk it. Touch the same stones Roman soldiers laid two thousand years ago.
The line where the greatest empire on Earth looked north and stopped.
The wall is still standing.
So are we.

๐ฌ๐ง Twelve million people were taken from Africa.
Chained below deck. Sold like cargo. The world watched. Nobody came.
Then one country sent its navy. Not to conquer. Not to colonise. To free them.
Two ships sailed out against three thousand miles of ocean. They hunted slave ships through the dark. Boarded them at sea. Broke the chains below deck. And carried the freed to a city called Freetown.
When slavers saw the navy coming, they threw their captives overboard. Shackled together. Still alive. British sailors jumped in after them.
Disease killed a quarter of the squadron in a single year. And still more came. Not because they were ordered to. Because they volunteered.
When nations refused to stop, Britain sailed into their ports. For sixty years, they never left.
A hundred and fifty thousand people walked free. Because one country decided it would pay any price to end it.
These stories deserve to be told. Help us tell them.

Just to be very clear.
I find it absolutely abhorrent that anyone who considers themselves a professional pilot, self-declared advocate for aviation safety and positive pilot mental health, would make personal attacks on the pilots of the Delta regional jet accident.
I donโt care about their motivation, this is not what we do as an industry, profession, or decent human beings. Have some compassion and just STOP. It really isnโt a good look.
@JimmyStevens88 Totally agree unfortunately.
We need some strong common sense leadership in power, in this country.
As you will know all too well in your line of business. We have been too soft as a liberal democracy for too long. Bad people take advantage.
@bbcquestiontime Finally someone has hit the nail on the head. Think about those vulnerable girls.
Much respect to @LiamHalligan, absolutely spot on. Its about right and wrong, good and bad.
The UK must act to eradicate this kind of behaviour from society. We do not and will not accept it.
Happy birthday to Sir Alex Ferguson, who turns 83 today. ๐ญ
Listen to what he has to say about dealing with failure. Something to think about for 2025. ๐
