While I believe that every platform should be used for progress, there is a time and a place for everything. This is going to be one of my places for more of those times.
I cannot think of a single time where a woman (who isn't a politician making laws about my body) made me feel unsafe
My brain immediately remembers an endless scroll of times where I didn't feel safe.
Not all men. But always men.
And then we had THIS GLORIOUS FUN. Traveling across the country to "learn" was certainly a choice that significantly impacted my routine and existing plans and caused waaay too much extra work time, which means this week will be LIGHT.
There has to be a balance ๐
I've been curious how much time I spend actually working in a week, so I keep the stop watch open on my phone and hit start when I'm working, stop when I'm not etc
This was the week of March 13 - 19, I was off on the 17th for a medical procedure
Kinda nuts that recognizing success is completely tied up in perception of someone.
You can knock it out of the park, but if someone is always looking for you to fail, they'll find some reason it's a failure. Meanwhile someone else can replicate the same or worse and be praised
This account feels just like my "where I complain" account but also -
I have anxiety about work 24/7. I'm not sleeping properly, my eating habits are messed up, I'm emotionally drained.
I've been up since 4am (so 2 hours) just bc of random paperwork that I have no control over
And why is this on Twitter!?
Bc I am sleep deprived and shouting into the void is cheaper than therapy ๐
(Therapy is great, and I should probably go to it - pretty sure everyone should)
And ultimately, that's pretty sad. I'd love to know what it feels like to leave work at work and be able to walk away for the evening. I'm really afraid I never will, but fingers crossed that a better working environment for me exists!
