Shooting yesterday on the N1:

The deceased has been confirmed as a constable stationed at Park Road SAPS in the Free State.

According to preliminary information, the officer was travelling on a bus when it developed mechanical problems.

He was not in uniform and allegedly became involved in a confrontation with two passengers

He reportedly shot both passengers.

A TMPD officer, who was on his way to work, witnessed the incident and stopped.

He allegedly then opened fire on the officer, with one round striking him.

The injured TMPD officer is stationed at the Menlyn Cable Theft Unit.
