Thank you for your feedback. I am not sure any non Igbo has written about the prowess of the Igbo as I have, but I may be wrong. Nevertheless, it baffles me that you call my people beggars. I am Itsekiri, and I have never seen, heard, or read about an Itsekiri begging in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. On the contrary, between 1968 and 1970, we showed love for our countrymen and women by contributing relief materials for the starving children of Biafra. Please research it. Our generosity was photographed and acknowledged by Catholic officials. We were the first Catholics in Nigeria. My ancestor, Olu Atuwatse I, was baptised into the Roman Catholic Church in 1601.

Due to our Catholic ties, we felt a fraternity with the starving peoples of Biafra, many of whom were Catholics. Unfortunately, today, you are calling us beggars. How can a people with the earliest history of education (the first Nigerian to graduate from university, Dom Domingos, was an Itsekiri. The first Nigerian plastic surgeon, Professor Oritsejolomi Thomas, was an Itsekiri. The first African female professor of Mathematics was an Itsekiri, Professor Grace Alele Williams), who sit atop some of the world's most prized crude oil reserves and benefit from 13% derivation and his community benefits be beggars? Anyway, such is life.
