For this year, the official theme of this occasion is "Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow", to 'recognize the women and girls who are leading the charge on #ClimateAction towards a sustainable future.'

As Rappler Philippines put it, we can hope that the public will now learn to recognize and respect the power and competence of Filipinas, regardless of how they define or interpret what it is to be a lady.
