📅 1906 — The Signal That Saved Lives

200+ nations agreed on one global distress call: SOS.
Three dots. Three dashes. Three dots. (… - - - …)

It was the simplest, clearest pattern in Morse code.

It didn’t mean “Save Our Souls” or “Save Our Ship.”

It was created to simplify sending morse code signals during emergency.

📅 1908 — Siberia, Russia

On June 30, 1908, a massive explosion flattened 80 million trees across Siberia over an area of 2,150 km2 (830 sq mi) of forest.

No crater was ever found.

Most scientists believe it was a meteor airburst, which disintegrated a few miles above Earth’s surface — creating one of the most enormous unexplained blasts in recorded history.
