Black Truck Driver to Sue After NC Cop Assaults him at Courthouse
NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, NC -
Attorneys for Don D. Long II, the 39 year-old Black man who suffered
permanent eye damage and vision impairment after being needlessly assaulted by a deputy with the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, released video of the assault where Deputy Gregory Colson sprayed pepper spray directly to his eyes at close range after Long simply inquired whether he could
enter a courtroom at the Northampton County Courthouse.
In addition to releasing the videos, Long’s attorneys have filed notice with Sheriff Jack Smith, Northampton County Manager Julian Phillips and other county officials that they intend to file a lawsuit over the unlawful use of force.
@AttorneyGriggs There's a significant difference in how Black and white individuals experience policing in this country. The legacy of the segregation era continues to impact the lives of Black people, leading to ongoing over-policing. @lmauricecpr@KyrieIrving@TPstudios
I asked Vernon Maxwell how Hakeem Olajuwon would fare vs. Victor Wembanyama.
“[Wembanyama] wouldn’t be able to guard him. Dream would be falling away from all that 7’4” shit. He wouldn’t be able to guard Dream, Dream just had too much.”
“It would have been a massacre.”
Netflix film chief Dan Lin has reaffirmed that they will not work with directors who want theatrical releases.
“There is a group of filmmakers who still want theatrical. Those are filmmakers that we’ve accepted we just won’t work with.”
