During Consensus, I was asked several times about the story of ethereum:0xf280b16ef293d8e534e370794ef26bf312694126 as far as we were aware. Many people were pleasantly surprised by how we managed to exit our position without damaging the community. This is the summary.
When we set up the process for accepting crypto donations at @stjude, we set the criteria that we would convert the assets donated as soon as reasonably possible. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is focused on leading the way that the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. While we (the crypto industry) may wish the world would leap forward and be more on-chain, that isn't how it currently exists and we need dollar denoted currencies to run the hospital.
Nearly 2 years ago, .5% of ASTEROID was sent to the St. Jude ETH wallet. We didn't have a way to readily convert it into US Dollars, so we left it in the wallet.
Due to external factors, the token went from a market cap of ~$20k to over $150M. Our position fluctuated between $500k and $1M in valuation. I had several messages asking if what we were going to do, and I responded to a few that we were figuring it out.
The next 48 hours were a whirlwind of approvals, but I knew two things. We would need to go to a DEX (a first for our mission) and that we would need to avoid hurting the community. Leadership understood and gave approval for the approach and we proceeded.
Some people may disagree with how we did it, but I believe it to be the best option out of the ones that we had. Over 2 days, we proceeded to exit the position in 12 varying sized tranches. During the entire process, we kept an eye on liquidity of the token and did our best to ensure it never dropped below $3.5M and that the Net Buy pressure didn't exceed $75k.
We exited the position with over 290 ETH valued at ~$676k. Thank you to the ethereum:0xf280b16ef293d8e534e370794ef26bf312694126 community that came together on this asset. These monies will go a long way in support of the life saving mission of St. Jude.

Nobody is connecting what's about to happen with the SpaceX IPO.
- Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Citigroup are leading the deal.
- 21 banks total. No IPO in history has ever required 21 banks.
- The raise is $75 billion at a $1.75 trillion valuation. That makes it larger than the GDP of 150 countries.
- Demand is 10 to 20x oversubscribed. That's $750 billion to $1.5 trillion in capital trying to buy $75 billion in shares. 90 to 95% of buyers will be rejected.
- 30% of shares are allocated to retail. $22.5 billion. Three to six times the normal retail allocation.
- The S-1 prospectus drops between May 15 and May 22. The roadshow begins June 8. A private event for 1,500 retail investors is scheduled for June 11. Listing expected between June 18 and June 30.
- $200 to $427 billion in retail capital will be sidelined after allocation fills. That money doesn't disappear. It hunts for the next closest thing.
- Only 0.01% of that sidelined capital is $20 to $42 million. Against thin liquidity crypto assets with direct SpaceX narrative connection, that's enough to 10-20x a token in days.
The smart money is already positioning for it.
FUD. Manipulation. Relentless attacks.
NONE of it matters.
Our mission is unchanged. Every challenge is being handled.
We now stand at 25,000 organic holders, with explosive growth and unstoppable momentum.
We are riding straight through the noise, leaving every hater behind.
You cannot stop us.
The mission remains. Patience is our weapon. This resistance has only proven our strength.
Together, we thrive. We are unstoppable. We are inevitable.
Asteroid mode.
Not even exaggerating in the slightest when I say that this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen…
A no-dip, mid-air 3 ball? Are you kidding me?
I’ve watching this 100x & I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. This is amazing.
In 2024, we donated 2.1 billion $ASTEROID tokens to @StJude. Two years later, these tokens reached a peak value of $1 million USD.
The main reason for the donation was that Liv herself hoped the revenue from Asteroid dolls could help children with cancer. Inspired by @VitalikButerin, the community also decided to donate the tokens directly to St. Jude.
Vitalik once said, “I truly prefer if you guys send to charity directly. I think the best thing for memecoins is if they can be maximally positive-sum for the world.” ASTEROID is doing exactly that right now.
At the time, we contacted @sometimesMarc, St. Jude’s crypto donation lead. They were already aware that the community had been donating to them. They responded enthusiastically, followed us, and kept up with our updates.
Today, we noticed that the St. Jude wallet has started converting the tokens into ETH. We’re truly grateful that they are putting this donation to good use.
I believe they will soon issue a thank-you statement. This marks the first time a memecoin has genuinely delivered real-world charity impact.
The St. Jude address still holds around 300 million tokens and has already realized nearly $600,000 USD in donations. We sincerely thank @StJude and @Asteroidcto for making this meaningful act of kindness happen together.
We hope @rebeccaperrotto (Liv’s mom) can feel happy about this. It’s a wonderful success.
Thank you to everyone who followed this story and helped make it happen. Kids should live in a world where cancer does not exist 🙏
@_Shadow36 Genuinely cant believe this man, there was nothing wrong with the coin and now 2 massive fud attempts in 2 days. People are so damn greedy that at this point they literally want others to lose if its not their coin
@_Shadow36 Sorry to hear that brother
Glad to see you was able to change your life and help out in situations like this as they are the most important, being able to help out friends and family in times of need🙏🏼
Thinking back
The coin was sitting at ~15m knowing damn well Elon is not going to say "No" to a girls last dying wish.
It was there. For 36 hours. Not slamming any amount at sub 20m is just disgustingly stupid and low IQ behaviour.
Why would I care about a couple of thousand $ that I could potentially lose when I could make it back in a couple of days?
EV on this trade was no where near a negative at any point since it got picked up
