@Eyesandvibes I didn't love the Poch half cycle. That being said, my main reason for not wanting him back isn't as much about his quality, but his willingness to stay another 4 years. I will live in constant fear that he bounces like 8-12 months before the WC.

This is what I mean when I hit back at those that say "the top talent in every state is already noticed/playing for free." That simply isn't true, and there is evidence for it. How many Yan Diomande's fall through the cracks every single year?

Diomande, now worth $100M for Leipzig, had trials & was rejected by Charlotte FC, Colorado Rapids and Rangers. He would have been a free signing. Everyone assessing talent at these clubs/franchises needs to be FIRED immediately. Congrats to Leganes & Leipzig who notice talent.

@andrewclune24 @AllFutbolMX Yeah, they are reasonably angry that no matter how good they perform, they will never have a chance at getting their team into the top flight again. The doors are simply closed in the name of "stability" so that bad teams can just bottom score every season with no consequence

@reformussoccer He's smoking crack in the first 3 minutes, then spitting facts in the last 7. Our most talented prospects face a HUGE insurmountable wall when they turn 19-20 ish. Not enough clubs to take them, the ones that can won't do it for whatever reason, and college is a dead end rn.

@THEChrisKessell @TheChampions @USLChampionship If a club from the league is winning the cup, then the whole league will be seen to be better, as long as that team isn't ALSO winning the league cup and the league title every year also, and even then, we see Munich and PSG doing that in highly regarded leagues

@HolaMrCarlos @herculezg I mean, that's not an issue that is solvable without building a good team that players WANT to play at. Even in other leagues and other sports, there are destinations that players don't want to end up in for one reason or another.

@AlexiLalas Its criminal that we've let it fall by the wayside in the way that we have. We have THE BEST sporting infrastructure in the world, but our own rules have cut the hamstrings of the college path.

@Tekneek @reformussoccer Because it's mostly the same for the fans too, especially for signings like this. They see a name they recognize and are excited that name will be on their jersey. The name usually performs OK, and the fan doesn't realize or doesn't care that long term success has been sacrificed

@herculezg It seems like they absolutely need some common sense mechanism like "you can't claim discovery rights on a player that has 1000+ minutes at a club in a top 5 league."

Teams are ignoring the reason the rule even exists, and just using it to extort other clubs for GAM

@HolaMrCarlos @herculezg I mean. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Superteams sell, big time, and anyone else who wants to compete has to become more ambitious to match them. In a closed league, a super-team is literally the only reason that you ever need to make your team better.

@goat97 @Eyesandvibes I didn't know this, but looking into it, he coached a now dissolved USLC team for like 3 seasons with ZERO prior coaching experience, then he did one season in NWSL. Not exactly kicking off the next generation.
