I know a lot of the chat will be about Wilfried Nancy and how poor Celtic were, but thought they were simply outclassed tonight. Up there with the best performances I've seen from a Motherwell team. Askou has every player knowing exactly what he's doing. Nancy, not so much.
Absolutely sickened by the narrative coming out of @MotherwellFC this week.
At today’s game, it was a noticeably subdued atmosphere. Are we allowed to shout, cheer, boo, anymore? Have we to pay up and shut up?
The club must remember that we’re under no obligation to support it.
@callum_maclean7@The_Tman10 Falling on his sword is fair enough. It’s just a shame he’s felt the need to drag fans down with him.
After all, 2,000 fans went to St J for the cup game after 1 win in 7.
He was a decent manager for us, he under no illusion. It’s a shame he’s tarnished his legacy with this.
@callum_maclean7@The_Tman10 A very vocal minority wanted him gone. That’s not to say everyone else was delighted with him though.
We have Celtic on Sunday, so will be 8th after that. Then one loss could see us in 11th. He’s not daft, he saw what was ahead.
@callum_maclean7@The_Tman10 It’s easy to paint a narrative that fans drove him out while the team were fifth and everything was rosy.
The team were on a poor run and he clearly couldn’t see a way to turn it around. This ‘abuse’ is just face-saving tactics.
Today was supposed to be a non-controversial victory for Rangers. The SFA wanted no further stink ahead of the bigots’ derby on Thursday.
By scoring a few goals, Motherwell just got in the way. Here’s hoping a similar subservient apology wings its way to Fir Park…👀
