Congratulations to Buck Martinez on a legendary career!
Martinez announced his retirement today from Sportsnet, where he became the voice of Blue Jays baseball.
On top of broadcasting for Toronto, Martinez also spent the final 6 years (1981-86) of his playing career with the Blue Jays and managed Toronto in 2001 and 2002.
@MadeInCAD Making ~$195k in Toronto sounds “rich” until you do the math.
47% gone to income tax.
13% sales tax on everything.
Decent homes start at $2M+.
Take-home doesn’t even come close to affording a down payment unfortunately
@TorontoPearson How is the biggest airport in Canada this dysfunctional? I’ve never had a smooth experience here. We pay massive taxes- this needs to be fixed
Disaster offseason for the #Jays. Letting a homegrown star walk when he should’ve been a Jay for life. Weren’t we told we had all this money to spend? Absolute failure by this front office
ELECTRIC: #BEARS HEAD COACH BEN JOHNSON GAVE ONE OF THE ALL-TIME POSTGAME LOCKER ROOM VICTORY SPEECHES.
THE PLAYERS WENT ABSOLUTELY CRAZY.
Johnson has every single one of his players and staff members bought in and has turned Chicago into a winner.
