THANK YOU @UKinZimbabwe for funding us & THANK you our partners for joining us on this Journey
We are delighted to have walked the journey of the @LFSPZim programme since 2014 with the support of @UKinZimbabwe and @MoLAFWRR_Zim. According to @PatriceTalla, food and agriculture have a decisive role in achieving the SDGs by 2030. @HeraldZimbabwe https://t.co/QXdmmjCZ68
#YouthDay2021
"We were struggling to run a profitable business due to a number of compounding issues like lack of knowledge on book-keeping and costing, lack of access capital to purchase baking ingredients. Then came in LFSP and our fortunes began to change" Norleen Tachiwana
On this #YouthDay2021 we celebrate the results and achievements of the LFSP youth interventions thanks to generous funding from @UKinZimbabwe and technical lead from @faosfsafrica
"the Gender Action and Learning System helped us to plan & make a vision together as a family. As such, we ventured into detergent and cobra making, poultry and market gardening which enabled us to raise $675.00 which we channeled into the goat farming project." Noriah Shonhayi
"LFSP was not just giving us handouts, I contributed 50% capital injection through a matching grant. I also got knowledge and training on business management. My business has grown bigger and I am a proud employer of other 20 youths from my community,"
Tinos Chitsinho
@nickmangwana@LFSPZim supported farmers in Gokwe & Mt Darwin to grow sesame and cotton hectrage reduced. The challenge was indeed the local price vs Mozambique. There were issues with the contractor. Price needs to match the regional price. If not 'exporting' makes sense for farmers survial🤑
The LFSP was designed to enhance access to finance for smallholder farmers. This enabled them to increase productivity, household incomes and invest in income generating activities which reduced poverty. @UKinZimbabwe
