This is horribly depressing. I now count myself lucky that it took me ~5 to 5.5 years after 2.5 years to get a masters and almost 3 years of job hunting/crap jobs/crap pay
Wildlife researchers, how long did it take you to get a (reasonably compensated) permanent job after undergrad? Include time pursuing advanced degrees if applicable.
I assume most of the folks who follow me on here are cooler than me and are already on the other (dare I say better) site, but I do have a couple invite codes if you aren’t and want to check it out…
One of my favorite lizard facts is that many of the whiptail species found in Arizona are all female and reproduce by cloning themselves (parthenogenesis).

Had two very nice ladies stop and ask me for directions to the train station in Florence. Travel goal accomplished. Next step: actually being able to give directions to the train station.
@DrJenBiddle She also has a wicked chocolate chip banana bread recipe for those times you forget you bought bananas. Not that this ever happens at my house…
@DrJenBiddle Kelly and one of our kids (always forget which one though 😬) like them sans chocolate chips. So we often compromise by just using less. But even with the full load (or more - youngest wants ALL the chips in the cookies), this is our go to recipe.
