LI-DOG, the Long Island Dog Owners Group, is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to public parkland for Long Island dog owners & their dogs.
It was a great day Friday! We unveiled the doggy water fountain LI DOG donated to Heckscher park in Huntington. Some of the thirsty pooches got right in to enjoy! Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible and to all the dogs and their humans who love Heckscher park!

After publishing a great article last week on the legislation introduced by @NYSSenatorMRM and @SteveSternNY to allow dogs in NYS parks including beaches, @Newsday published an editorial on Monday questioning why people should be allowed to bring their dogs into NYS parks! 1/10
The legislation introduced by @NYSSenatorMRM and @SteveSternNY takes
a careful, common-sense approach to an issue that has unfairly restricted park access for too long to too many taxpaying citizens.

Long Islanders may soon be able to stroll along the sand at Jones Beach or near the shore at Montauk Point State Park with their four-legged best friends. Proposed legislation moving through Albany would allow dogs access NYS parks, including beaches https://t.co/9pkZpiueTM
