"When Sheridan was six, she had her tonsils removed. I held her hand and made her a promise every father believes he can keep: 'You are safe. Daddy is right here. I will protect you.' The last thing she said before she closed her eyes was, 'I love you, daddy.'"
"13 years later, I held that same hand. Only this time it was cold."
"I was outside the Chicago Medical Examiner's office, holding the lifeless hand of my 18-year-old daughter for the last time. Our sweet Sheridan was murdered in Chicago by a man who was in this country illegally."
"All I could think about was that promise I made her — because when Sheridan needed me the most, I wasn't there. I couldn't get between her and that man."
"We don't want anyone else to have to hold the cold hand of their daughter and know it was 100% preventable."
"Find your voice. Speak up for these American angels."

52 years after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, more information is coming to the surface about the atrocities committed by Muslim Turks against the Greeks of Cyprus. A Greek Cypriot who had been captured during the Turkish invasion revealed to his wife, shortly before his death, that he had been raped by Turks while in captivity.
This information became known last week from the president of the Association of Prisoners of War of 1974, as conveyed by the widow of the deceased man who had been a prisoner during the Turkish invasion.
This man, full of feelings that some of us can never understand, what it is like to have people invade your home and take it from you by force, to take your ancestral land from you, confided to his wife what happened to him in 1974.
The man had lived for decades with his wife and they had four children. Nevertheless, according to what was reported in Parliament, he had never spoken of the rape. Shortly before he died, he got it out.
This story brings back to our memories the horrific stories recorded in the official archives of the Red Cross, which provided aid during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. For example another story testified by a Greek woman:
"They put us in a classroom of the school in Voni, together with the rest of the family. There they would come in whenever they wanted, choose, and take us away to satisfy their sexual desires. I would not go out to get food. I kept wearing grandmother’s clothes so I would look like an old woman, but they could see my face. I would go outside only when I went to the toilet. I was constantly wrapped in a quilt and all the little children would sit on top of me so that the Turks would not keep dragging me out and raping me. This lasted three months, before the Red Cross came."
The crime described took place in the occupied village of Voni in the Nicosia district, which had been used by the Turkish army as a detention camp for women and children. Camps of this type were also set up in the Famagusta district villages of Vitsada, Marathovounos and Gypsou, and there, according to testimonies, systematic rapes were committed by the Turkish army. The women were released at intervals after the ceasefire agreement of 16 August 1974.
Many of those statements were used years later to locate missing Greek Cypriots who were killed during the advance of the Turkish army. Many women confessed, and together with hearsay testimony, the women victims of the war are today estimated in the hundreds.
However, according to Vasos Christou, president of the Association of Prisoners of War of 1974, besides women and children there are also other male prisoners of 1974 who were raped but have not spoken, and little by little evidence is coming to the surface from testimonies.
The abortions carried out in the second half of 1974 in Cyprus were HUNDREDS and MASS. Hundreds of women brutally abused by the Muslim Turks became pregnant and special legislation had to be passed so that they could terminate their pregnancies (Source: Chrysanthos Chrysanthou, "The other war of the doctors in 1974").
Many abortions were performed in private clinics, quite a few at Nicosia General Hospital, and because that hospital was full of war wounded, many abortions were undertaken by doctors at the hospitals of the British Bases in Dhekelia and Akrotiri.
Many other women miscarried using pregnancy-termination drugs distributed to them by the Red Cross while they were still in the detention camps of the barbaric Turkish army.
The Muslim Turks raped and beat women, children, and even children with mental disabilities.
In order to facilitate the process of mass abortions, even the Orthodox Church of Cyprus consented through its tolerance to the amendment of the legislation in 1974, so that the abortions of that period would become legal.
52 years later, we still do not forget the stories of the Greeks, of our parents, and of those who fought and felt the barbarity of the Turks in Cyprus. Stories that the human mind cannot imagine.
Do you know what it means one day suddenly, the barbarians to invade your homeland, drive you out, rape you, murder you, your wife and your children, or in other cases for 52 years until today your relatives to search for you because your body was never found? To be missing for 52 years and your relatives never to have buried you? Do you know what that means?
That is the Turk. That is the Barbarian.
That is why we, their descendants, shout today:
Never again.
We do not forget.
We cannot coexist.
The only solution is the Union of Mother Greece with Cyprus.
Free Cyprus.

The lone juror got fed up after being continously badgered by this wimp juror
So he grabbed the exercise band Clancy used to strangle her kids and wrapped it around an empty water bottle.... and pulled it tight to show them why he wouldn't budge.... that's f'n hero s'hit in my book
Bravo 👏 once again to the lone juror who looked evil in the Lindsay Clancy and the other 11 jurors and stood up for those 3 kids
