God I hope so. Maverick made me realise how much I missed the unashamed sincerity of blockbusters. Self-referential irony has plagued escapism in big cinema to the point it sounds like films are asking why you are watching them more than they invite you to lose yourself in them.

Great thread on the film festival circuit. I’m fortunate enough to be comfortable financially at the moment but the majority of film festivals are and always will be unaffordable - the fee with no guarantee of even a reply or notification is unjustifiable for most.

Been thinking a lot about how working class/poor filmmakers get locked out of film festivals because it’s so expensive. Something mentioned by @grim_pretty yesterday really got under my skin. Filmmaking has become a lot more accessible - compared to when shooting on film 1/

Here's your first proper look at BIRDSONG, the new short i've been working away at for the best part of the last year.

In the final stages of post-production now and we have some exciting things planned. Can't wait to get it to your eyes in the near future.
