Kwanza usisahau hizo ni zile areas za Mpeketoni. Some people might have forgotten what happened in Mpeketoni, so let me remind them why having ATPU everywhere is to our benefit.

In June 2014, al-Shabaab militants stormed Mpeketoni in Lamu County. They went door to door, targeting and killing over 60 men mostly non-Muslims. Families were torn apart, cars and buildings torched, and the whole town left in shock. It was ATPU officers who later helped dismantle the networks behind such attacks and prevented more bloodshed in coastal and border regions.

Now fast-forward to today, Hussein Khalid is online questioning why ATPU officers wear masks, just days after Ahmednasir branded them corrupt. Coincidence? Maybe. But history tells us that when security forces are weakened by politics and smear campaigns, extremists celebrate.

You don’t have to like how ATPU operates, but you can’t deny that were it not for them, Kenya would still be mourning fresh attacks every other month.

Khalid amenibore. Na sjui shida ni gani wakonayo with ATPU! Last month it was Ahmed Nassir smearing them ati they are corrupt, today it's the Khalid who wants the officers identified and with masks off. That's simply jeopardizing their security and can become a target. Shame on you @husskhalid
