@Keir_Starmer US planes, carrying US nukes, UK footing the bill.
And stop harping on about the jobs. These are not the jobs the UK needs or wants. Spending those billions on almost anything else in the UK itself, would create many more jobs, and longer lasting opportunities.
Trump's desperate attempts to white-wash history and remove references to anything he disagrees with has to be a double-edged sword. The president sets a precedent: how fragile history is. How long, in this brave new world, will HIS legacy last?
"Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History" - worthy of 1984's #MinistryofTruth?

I should really boast about being on this longlist (under my wedded name) before it becomes a shortlist!

And they'll do it for as heinous a crime as vocally disagreeing with their international policy. (AKA "creating a ruckus.") Is this not dystopian enough for you yet?
If you're a visitor to the US, you have NO rights that the current government won't remove as they see fit, be it green card, permanent residency, work or student visa, whatever, and then treat you as WORSE than a criminal (criminals have rights) as long as they like.

"Water companies released raw sewage into England's rivers and seas for a record 3.61 million hours last year"
This, apparently, is what happens when private companies with an absolute monopoly run UK infrastructure into the ground by priotising share holders.
Aided and abetted by a government that never put the safeguards in place, on both environment and debt financing, and only now demanding proper measurement of releases. The water companies will be fined, their customers will end up paying.
We haven't even had 3 full months this year, and we already have 4 books out!

I'm semi convinced Twitter (sorry! X!) has employed an AI to create fake adverts selling things that look vaguely bitcoin or tech-bro, PURELY to get people to sign up for their service that removes those - and other - adverts.

So what I, Marvin the Martian, and, um, a Dalek really want to know on this glorious spring afternoon, is: How many cookies - Sorry! STARS - How many STARS are you going to give my @northodoxpress#ScienceFiction short story collection, A Short History of the Future?
