Extremely proud of my debut as editor of The Rockridge News, a 16-page print newspaper about goings-on in a little hamlet of Oakland.
I had a lot of help, but ran a lot of the show — design, editing, writing, reporting, illustration, the whole shebang.

It was a nod to the past, the origins of the land. And I also visited the Oakland Tech High School journalism class, where I recruited students to write for the paper. A nod to the future.
Per @ussoccer, the @USYNT U-20 have a KO game vs Italy in Chile on Thursday and the ONLY broadcast is in Spanish on @NBCUniverso & @peacock.
What gives @FOXSoccer, not even on the app?

@JVLast hey, so I’m trying to share your How to Think and Act Like a Dissident article — because it’s very good! I know a man’s gotta eat, but this one in particular feels like it shouldn’t have a paywall on it. Y’feel me?

Stop pretending the press is the enemy. That’s buying into fascism.
The press is largely made up of people irate at injustice & starving to hold powerful people accountable.
@vybeforlyfe Hoo boy, thanks so much for the compliment! (Fun fact: written journalists almost never get kind feedback.) I totally had no idea what you were talking about until I looked it up. That’s a rough story to revisit. Glad the jokes got both of us through it.
As information about the terrorist attack in New Orleans unfolds please remember that details in fast-moving situations are often most reliable from local sources.
