NEW: Will the Red Wings get aggressive to try and stay competitive in the wake of Dylan Larkin's trade request? Or take a step back and embrace a deeper re-tool? And what if Yzerman holds firm and lets this drag out?
All of that explored, here:

@nicknactax Yeah I mean it just sounds like we had different experiences with Detroit and metro Detroit… and also Chicago which I love but it’s the most entitled place I’ve ever lived. I disagree that Detroit’s ethos is largely manufactured although of course it’s not necessarily unique
Detroit fans of all four sports demand pride and work ethic. That might be the end of the list. Dylan Larkin has vacated his commitment to both in the last three years. May he never touch the cup. #LGRW
@nicknactax You’re absolutely right but I think we can allow for each sports city to have a unique personality or ethos, which they do. All the places you mentioned root differently for their teams to some degree
@VenomLord28990@HockeyWithDevin Thought about this today, I do think he could legitimately play center. I think it’s impossible to guess at his ceiling right now, gotta keep viewing any progression from him as a bonus
@MathewHills1 Fully agree, especially with a trade request voiding trade protection. Won’t happen tho since trade protection is in lieu of additional salary in most cases
@MathewHills1 I don’t really have any idea what you’re talking about lol but I don’t think the Toronto market is too tough and I definitely don’t see Larkin’s request as anything other than soft and pathetic
You best believe I’ll be buying lower bowl tickets to the first game we play against Dylan Larkin and witness Moritz Seider do this to him

if true, Yzerman should tell him to eff off and get serious. Minnesota, a divisional opponent, and a cap strapped team leading the cup final right now? gimme a break
Oh you want out so badly that you gave us three whole teams, two of which already win all the Cups plus one with no assets left to make a decent offer? Cool, you have five years left on your contract, see you at practice.
