Senior Software Engineer - Building with Typescript, Astro, Vite and Go - Sharing, teaching and creating for the healthier, wealthier, long term developers
"Programming is dead."
"Software engineering is over."
That's the narrative being played out now right?
People are fear mongers.
Turn fear into opportunity.
Writing helps in a slightly different way.
When you see the words in physical form something clicks in the brain and you see it totally differently to the way you thought about it in your head.
This is so important for critical thinking.
I'm glad people are becoming aware of this now.
I started writing in a notebook early this year as I started to use AI coding more and more and it's been a blessing.
Who'd have thought The Pope, of all people, would be popping off based takes on AI?!
It shouldn't be called a based take really, it's just common sense really but most will think this is baseeeeed.
We cannot consider #AI to be morally neutral. In reality, every technical tool embodies choices and priorities through what it measures, ignores, and optimizes, and how it classifies people and situations. Ethical discernment cannot be limited to asking whether we are using a system for good or bad purposes. It must also examine how that system is designed and what vision of the human person and society is embedded in the data and models that guide it. #MagnificaHumanitas
Introducing Claude Tag, a new way for teams to work with Claude.
In Slack, Claude joins as a team member with access to the channels and tools you choose. Tag Claude in and delegate tasks to it while you focus on other work.
some people are suffering from an extreme addiction to attention
have seen it on here where someone's post blows up and the taste of attention ruins them
they end up mechanically searching for anything they can say or do to try and experience it again
they end up an empty husk with zero sense of self, pushed to extremes and entirely programmed by the algorithm
it's even worse because you can monetize this addiction and make a career out of it
and so much of what's wrong with the world is downstream from these people
I think it's due to a mixture of curiosity, inspiration and greed.
People want to make the next BIIIIIIIG thing.
They don't see the value in the thing they were trying to build before.
