Waited to post this as I needed to calm down first. I popped into a local pub on Friday evening as I didn’t feel like cooking so thought I’d grab dinner on my way home. It was fairly busy but I found a table and ordered food and a drink.
@faustocoppi60 I think the complaints from the riders weren’t about the circuit itself. It was clear at some points that the barriers weren’t correctly fixed and the spectators had pushed them forward onto the course. Then it’s up to the organisers to deal with it or neutralise the race.
@NairoInGreen How about ‘Pros shouldn’t be expected to stop or slow down for fans, or chat or wave, because every time they do it disrupts what they were trying to achieve with the training. Fans are not entitled to photos or a greeting when a pro is working.’
@marksandspencer bad service today. I bought a 3 pk of socks a week ago. Wore a pair out shopping today and 6 hours later they have a hole in one sole. Just been told in the shop I must go home and get the other two pairs to return with the faulty pair in order to get a refund.
@Domestique___ It’s already too expensive for the average fan to follow. Most won’t be able to go to individual races and the costs to watch live coverage are extortionate. Who can afford £30.99 per month in the UK for cycling coverage which still has ads.
@faustocoppi60 Visma race report:
“Wout didn’t want to push himself too hard because he’s still not feeling 100%. Together with Bart Lemmen, he helped position Simon well in the finale before riding to the finish at his own pace. All in all, it was a good day.”
@British_Airways still missing 1487 Avios for flights 20th & 24th Feb. 5 calls to BA, 2.5 hrs on the phone. Last call 29/4. Keep being told it has been escalated and I will see them appear in 12 days. Terrible service not what I expect for Gold status. Why can’t you fix this?
@marksandspencer went into M&S at Brooklands after the refit. Now gender neutral cubicles with sinks/driers in. They stink. Had to queue, they were all full. A boy came out, I went in after him, he hadn’t flushed, there was piss on the seat. What will you do to keep these clean?

@DearRebelAda M&S at Brooklands near Woking has just been refurbished and has gender neutral cubicles with sinks/driers in. They stink. Went there today, had to queue as they were all full. A boy of about 12 came out, I went in after him he hadn’t flushed and there was piss all over the seat.
@mou55981652 Last time I checked there are 5 monuments not 6. Or did Strade Bianche get upgraded when I wasn’t looking? And we all know what he needs from nutrition apparently - pickle juice🥒 🧃
@davecorviddave Perfectly plausible that there is no data. How many “trans women” choose to use men’s toilets? Once they believe they have a viable reason they don’t. Also why the suggested campaign to let them know they are safe there is pointless. It’s not where they want to go so they won’t.
@looflol I think the mutual extreme dislike only really exists amongst the sprinters now. I guess probably because they are more likely to smack lumps out of each other during the run in to the line. I can think of several that seem to hate each other.
@NairoInGreen I guess that’s what happens when you are trying to draft behind the motorbike to save what energy you have left after messing up your feeding and you get too close.
