Libbs Lake - 17 acres, 1.1 mi shoreline.
Named in 1890 for Elizabeth (Lib) Ogin, who came to care for her bachelor brother Henry. She later married and had two children.
Libbs Lake was not attached to Grays Bay until a long channel was dredged in the 1800’s.
Spotted in the sun along Libbs Lake: a spiny softshell turtle. They are Minnesota's most common softshell turtle found in rivers and some lakes. They get their name from the spines and bumps that typically line the front edge of their shell.

Amy Perkins was kind enough to show me her neighborhood set up. They have a neighborhood boil! How cute is that?!
Also each batch of the syrup tasted different. So delightfully strange.
