@erichoke They described me as "advanced maternal age," and yes some of my friends have graduating seniors. But I birthed three of my four degrees before birthing kids. 🤷♀️

Recalling how the religious folks - the CHURCH - brought the woman caught in adultery to Jesus to shame her & murder her for sin. Jesus didn’t address her sin publicly but THEIR attitude toward her.
The church could learn a lot from Jesus.
i know there are more important things in the world but it does suck that a greedy billionaire destroyed an app that helped me learn so many things and connected me with the most amazing people
If the fruit of your theology is people who are empathetic to white supremacy, patriarchy & colonization - it’s time to ask if your theology is really the theology of the Jesus who came to preach good news to the poor, proclaim freedom for the captives & set the oppressed free.
If good news has nothing to do with politics, Moses shouldn't have asked Pharaoh to let his people go. He should have just asked Pharaoh if he knew where he was going when he died. 🤮
Thank God good news includes liberation.
I’m shook thinking of giving up Twitter. Are y’all keeping both??? I need another social media distraction like I need 10 broken toes. Man, y’all, we wouldn’t have made it through the pandemic without this place and each other. But I agree, Twitter’s about to destroy itself.
If you decide to start a wavy hair routine, instead of spending an hour straightening your hair, you can spend 3 hours doing 47 steps in a painfully specific order and the results from this will be wildly unpredictable.
Regular church attendance isn't what it used to be.
30 years ago a committed church member attended 3 times a week.
20 years ago 3/month.
10 years ago 2/month.
Now 1/month is the “fastest-growing segment of church life.”
Here are 8 realities from that for the average pastor. 🧵
As Meredith Stone of @BaptistWomen says: The Southern Baptist Convention is wrong.
Take heart, SBC women. There are other ways to be faithfully Baptist and serve God as you are called! https://t.co/jJWXIjn1iE
I was ordained in a Southern Baptist church almost 30 yrs ago & I’ve been a pastor ever since. While the SBC is busy making silly rules that fly in the face of the message and witness of Jesus the radical INCLUDER, we women pastors are just out here doing the work.
Carry on.
@mombulldog I mean, obviously as a Senior Pastor, I disagree with this assessment; however based today's decisions, the new SBC amendment *does* prevent women from serving as ministerial staff. More and more churches may be ousted for women in non-senior pastor roles now.
Even though I am not Southern Baptist anymore, I certainly feel for the women who remain who feel called to ministry but aren't supported - and in fact are vilified - by so many in their denomination.
Baptist Women in Ministry expresses solidarity with our sisters who are affected by the Southern Baptist Convention’s failure to value the worth and callings of women.
