Had a blast today at @AOCSBISD@CSASBISD lunch & learn! We committed to using some touchdown-worthy EB strategies and celebrated the return of football! GEAUX SAINTS!
Ms.Braselton sure knows how to make kids smile!!! 6th graders got to watch Pixar short “Presto” to practice their summarizing Fiction skills today! @CSASBISD
This is Princess. When she became my student three weeks ago, she told me she had never finished a book. I put Grown by @WriteinBK in her hands and she finished it yesterday. Told all her friends and teachers about it. She got Canes for this accomplishment today ❤️
@KellyGToGo @ayadakhtar My favorite of 2021 so far is @FineAngeline's Firekeeper's Daughter. I was spellbound from the first page. Absolutely loved the main character's voice.
Spending my last day of break immersed in @brightmorningtm’s The Art of Coaching Teams. So excited to start the year leading the best ELA team around, baby! (Yes, I’m still in the bed, it’s still summer 🤪)
Wrote notes to my summer school students as our first session comes to a close. I’ve been so impressed by the effort these kids have put forth in SUMMER SCHOOL and I am so grateful I got to be their teacher ❤️
Using Empathy Maps to connect my summer school readers with characters in @CherylStrayed’s Wild, @Trevornoah’s Born a Crime, and @JasonReynolds83’s Long Way Down. Thanks for the incredible strategy you taught us at the @AbydosInt conference, @LinseyLoo02 ❤️
No one ever brings up the 1918 pandemic then mentions how much kids fell behind in school. What they do mention, however, is how many people lost their lives.
Gov. Mike Parson: “These kids have got to get back to school.... And if they do get COVID-19, which they will — and they will when they go to school — they’re not going to the hospitals.... They’re going to go home and they’re going to get over it.” https://t.co/yEtHbYf3sZ
