I lived through the 70's,80's inflation. I remember gas lines, and year-round Daylight Saving as a way to lower costs.

Does anyone under 45 realize that mortgage rates were double-digit for 11+ years (1979 to 1990) and from 1970 to 2000--for 30+ years, rates were above 7 percent--higher than rates are right now.

Sorry, I don't live or post for your entertainment. I'm not falling into your Brandolini trap; the Odyssey story/myth was verbally handed down for many hundreds of years; aoidoi embellished in every telling of the story, long before it was "put to paper by pen".

Homer's and Virgil's were just the oldest lasting written records that still exist--they certainly put their own twists on the myth/story. "Homer" quite possibly wasn't even one person (The "Homeric Question"), so the various writings attributed to "him" are likely an amalgamation--with each singer's own version included, abridged, excluded, etc...

My research shows what I've said. The underlying irony still exists, even by your requirements--

Fictional character goes into situation, claiming "victimhood", knowing they will likely be mutilated, is mutilated, claims but in-spite of the mutilation, still sells a lie...is 3000 years later, played by an actor, who went into a situation claiming "victimhood, is mutilated, sells a lie...and that actor is most likely unaware of the parallels.

That's Irony.

Btw I was nearly pointing out the media bias. No "that's outrageous, coming from POTUS!", from the media, when Obama drops a very sexual joke. No outrage when Joe talks about how great sex almost kept him from running for office; "oh, that's just silly 'ol Joe!, He means no harm!"

It's not Wall Street I'm worried about--most of them have the sophistication/technical knowledge to avoid data leaks, even with foreign AI.

It's the 1000's of small to medium sized businesses that are already using foreign AI models--60% or more by some estimates. At scale they certainly do not have the sophistication required to stop proprietary data from falling into foreign hands. Many of these companies are sub-contractors to larger, "Wall Street" sized companies, including major US military contractors.

I know you are a jaded anti-globalist, anti big business guy, doesn't mean we can't still fight for a nation we believe in. I'm not going to hand it over willingly or without a fight.
