Well, lyric poetry tends t' focus on feelings. Those usually follow a trochaic or iambic meter.

What would you suggest with something not as...cheerful?

That helps get everything out on paper, without it being misleading because of the tone?

Well, there's a couple ways ya' can go 'bout doin' poetry.

There's free verse, blank verse, an' rhymes verse, ya' got limericks, villanelles, sonnets...

Got a degree in Creative Writing.
