New Yorkers with disabilities deserve more than promises, and we were proud to share that message during today’s rally at the New York State Capitol!
Along with direct support staff, advocates, and family members from across New York State, we spread the very important message that all people with disabilities deserve a system that is funded, staffed, and strong!
That means:
✔️ A 4% Inflationary Increase
✔️ CarrForce Affordability Initiatives

March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM), and Liberty ARC is joining in on the celebration of this very special month!
This year’s theme from the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD) is “We’re Here: Then, Now, Always,” emphasizing the simple truth that people with developmental disabilities have always been a part of our communities and that they always will be 🏘️🧡.
DDAM raises awareness about the inclusion of people with disabilities in all facets of community life, the elimination of barriers that are still faced in making meaningful connections, and highlighting the many accomplishments of people with disabilities in our community and throughout the nation.
Liberty ARC is committed to creating a more accessible, welcoming, and inclusive environment for people with disabilities throughout their communities, not only in March, but during the entire the year!

Yesterday was a big day at the New York State Capitol for Liberty ARC’s favorite newsletter publisher, Dylan Biddle!
Dylan was able to sit down for an exclusive interview with New York State Assemblyman and Chair of the Assembly Committee on Disabilities @AsmSantabarbara , which will be featured in the upcoming edition of his e-newsletter, “Dylan’s Dish.” He was then introduced on the Assembly floor by Santabarbara, where he received a standing ovation, for his success as an author and a passionate self-advocate for people with disabilities. Laurel Skultety and Paul McAvoy from Liberty ARC, along with Dylan’s other staff members from AIM Services and the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and members of his family, were on hand to celebrate with him. Congratulations, Dylan!

With it being the season of giving thanks, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to @RiversCasino_NY for including Liberty ARC once again in their annual turkey distribution to local charities and community groups on Monday. 🦃

Every year, the Assemblyman partners with a local organization to decorate ornaments with. They are then hung up during the city of Amsterdam's annual Tree Lighting Festival, and Liberty ARC was chosen this year! ✨🎄
We cannot wait to see our master pieces proudly hanging up during Friday's festivities!
