I read, "Avocado asks," a Black-Eyed Susan picture book nominee to Ms. Harold's Achieve class. Ss got to see what an avocado looked like. 1 only liked the chips. 1 only loved the guacamole & the last loved how the peel felt. Ss will vote in April. @MASLMD@CCPSlibraries
Many happy faces from those receiving letters written by Achieve students for Random Acts of Kindness Day. Students wrote the letters after reading "Sincerely, Emerson" one of this year's Black-Eyed Susan nominated picture book @CCPSlibraries@MASLMD
Every student has the right to read in a fully resourced school library, staffed by a certified school librarian. @SenJackReed & @RepRaulGrijalva are fighting to make that right a reality. Join AASL & ALA in thanking them for their work: https://t.co/a6MHFmbS93

Congratulations to Jessica Cook, social studies teacher at La Plata High School, for being a CCPS Teacher of the Year award nominee. Nominees, finalists and the CCPS Teacher of the Year were recognized in a Feb. ceremony.
Had to show off some of the painted rocks. They worked hard and put effort into color selection and what they wanted to paint. I recieved thank you notes to Celebrate #NationalLibraryWeek I think they know that green is my favorite color 🥰
Looking forward to painting rocks with Achieve students today. I'm reading one more Black-eyed Susan picture book nominee before they vote next week. Just another day during #NationalLibraryWeek@MASLMD
